I hope the Easter bunny brought you some goodies... he visited me but I only had a small piece of chocolate due to my diabetes.  Darn thing it is.  I'm hating having it.   Seems when I wake up these days I'm aching and just as tired as when I went to bed.  I guess that comes with getting older.   Oh well....  at least the day is wonderfully bright and sunny and no rain.  And we have green grass appearing after the long winter months.  Lots of birds chirping their little heads off and it looks like I need some new bird feeders this year after the deer demolished a couple.

A desktop wallpaper for you today... nice and big for the larger screens and lots of room for all your program icons.  Click to see it larger and save it from there......

I probably should have saved this image till it was Mother's Day.  How gorgeous is this little guy hugging his mum.   Just beautiful.
Just popping in today to wish you all a happy easter.  The years seem to go flying by and some days I feel that I can't keep up.  Sun is shining and the birds are singing and no doubt my little squirrels will be waiting for their breakfast so I'll go feed them and then go on my bike ride.  Only the second one this year so far ... but I sure need the exercise after sitting around all winter.

I love making these as hearts are one of my favourite things.
It's larger if you click on it ...

Fifteenth wedding anniversary tomorrow.  Yikes... where have those years gone since I stepped onto the Qantas plane in Australia, with my doggie,  to come to Canada and marry my online guy.  With not much more than my favourite quilts, a few clothes, my dog, and some cherished photographs I ventured forth to a new land and began a new chapter in my life.  Loving the bears and the wildlife ... especially the two little twin boy deers who seem to have become my daily visitors lately.  They'll soon be gone for the summer ... but maybe if I'm lucky they will return next year with their offspring.     Gorgeous photo of a precious little squirrel with her baby.

Terrible times for so many people around the world whilst we wait for some sign of the missing Malaysian 777 airplane.  So big, yet its disappeared.  I was hoping last night when I saw on the news that Australia had found something in the vast Indian Ocean that at last we might have some details about it all... but so far they can't find it now from a satellite image so we're back to the beginning I think.   One can only imagine the heartbreak and sadness for these families.

An image to add to your stash if you are saving them from my blog.  Can never have too many "happy birthday" cards to send to family and friends.

Quite an eventual few days up here in the woods.   Flood under the house ..... broken pipe from the frozen conditions.  Urgh!  It was very difficult even digging into the snow and ice for several feet  to get to the outside door even before it could be repaired.  Snow sure is beautiful but it can be horrendous at times when it freezes into stuff like cement.    As I sit here at my computer I have my tablet on my desk and loving the new screensaver I purchased for 99 cents.  A great big brown bear in the woods putting his foot into the stream when the salmon swim by. Little squirrels climbing along logs, lots of gorgeous trees and sunlight, and of course deer and at the far end of the scene there is a posted sign to beware of Dozer... (my sweet and dear old doggie who had to be put to sleep last July).   I embedded the photo of him onto the tree and there's a lantern hanging on the branch beside him.  Waterfall further on and moose too.  It's a bit like looking out my window...  :-)  And today was nice and sunny ... I guess Spring has sprung.   Looking forward to seeing the grass growing again ......

I'm grumpy today after finding a pretty nightie I'd like on internet.  Went through the processing of it ... reasonably priced at $28 .. only to find at checkout it was $10 for tax which I highly doubt would be that much ..... then they wanted to charge $35 for postage from California to British Columbia.  We're neighbours ...  so I gave up and logged out ... never to enjoy the lovely thing I wanted to buy.  I get so annoyed that they rip people off with postage.  There is no way it would cost that much.   So instead of the $28 I was looking at originally they wanted to charge me $73.   I guess that's what happens when you live in the woods with not many stores around that have the things you want....   boo hoo!  If you live in California and you read this I'd love to hear your opinion on the postage thing and the tax .....

a card you could use for many purposes....

Cute story about a baby squirrel ....   he's so cute and I'm glad he survived.

Been busy today redesigning my DVD cover ... also the front of the box image and even ordered some new business cards from Vistaprint. They do a great job.  I've gone all pink roses, pink/mauve  background with white dots and roses for the actual DVD.  A pretty start to my 2014 productions...  :-))   Time seems to go by so quickly I haven't really gotten around to it through January or most of February.

The sun is out today ...  if only it wasn't so cold out there. Minus 25 or so is awful.  Hand sticks to the metal door knob and I have to get the bird seed out of the metal shed .... again I stick to the handle of the door ...and it's really so cold that it takes  your breath away.  Icicles inside your nose, and hands with or without gloves become so cold and sore I often can't wait to get back indoors and put my hands under the hot water .....   It's also the time I wish I had fur on my nose like my beautiful furry friends out there.   They are stunningly gorgeous ... deer .. with long eyelashes and the biggest brown eyes I've ever seen.  Big ears, and when you are up close to them their coats are very furry and thick.    And I love how they seem to be walking on tip toes like ballet dancers in slow motion.  Slow perhaps when I'm talking to them but off like a flash when Blue, the dog from next door, comes around the corner of his yard and scares them.  I think they know he can't get out .. they don't run back far .. but I love to see them leaping across the field in big hops.

I'm anxiously waiting for my business cards to arrive and also some pretty new red DVD cases also my new coffee table pictured below.  They don't call them coffee tables anymore.... now they are occasional tables. I really like this one with the drawer underneath ... and shelves ...

Olympics over .. so glad nothing bad happened.  It was most enjoyable and looking out our window here in northern Canada it looked like we were in Sochi ... snow and ice everywhere.

Some circular images from my Etsy shoppe. Pocket mirrors, tags, labels, cupcake toppers, all sorts of uses for these....  There's a 50% off sale till Easter ... throughout my shoppe.

Such a kind and generous man. You can always judge a man by how he treats animals. My dad was so soft hearted when it came to all animals. He loved them all so much so I guess that's where I got my love of them from.   These lucky puppies will have a life unlike hundreds if not thousands of them that were doomed to be killed by the Russians before and during the Olympic games.   I sure hope some more have been saved.
For U.S. Olympic athlete Gus Kenworthy, the Olympics are about more than just earning medals for his country. The silver medalist freestyle skier is doing his part to help the numerous stray dogs that populate the streets of Sochi. When Kenworthy came across four puppies and their mother on the streets, he just couldn’t leave them behind. He tweeted a picture of the puppies with the caption “Puppy love is real to puppies.”

A pretty lady for you.  In amongst the real blooms and the fabric and ceramic ones.

Saturday, February 8, 2014

Have you been watching the Olympics.  Loved seeing the little Russian girl skating... she was so clever and so very pretty.   I'm also enjoying the young guys on the snow boards and of course the ski-ing.  Speed skating and an interesting fact is that three sisters from Canada are competing in the mogul .. where they bump their way down the slope and you wonder if their knees are going to go through their chins.

This morning I just wanted to say thank you.
To all the visitors I get from all over the world.  When I watch the cycling on the television and they are in countries around the globe I often wonder ... is there someone in that house I see on the hill.... who has visited my blog.  The list of visitors grows daily ... and some from places I have never heard of.  It's wonderful to see where your country is on the little circling globe at the bottom of my blog.  I'm so happy that you find my blog interesting and perhaps grab some of the pretty things I share.   So thank you all again for coming to visit ...  you keep me company up here in the snowy, and very cold woods of British Columbia, Canada.  I'm beginning to think I'd like to be a bear and hibernate from the cold ....  I could eat chocolate and all things I love and get really fat .. then sleep for the whole winter and wake up half my weight.  lol

A pretty girl to add to your stash...

Superbowl watching isn't easy for an Aussie who doesn't understand the American rules.  Lots of fun though ... poor hubby gets questions right, left and centre as I try and plod my way around the efforts and actions of players on both teams.  I barracked for the Seattle Seahawks really only because the colours of their uniforms matched my favourite team back in Australia. Can't wait for that to happen.  Also the Olympics are not far away so I'll be glued to the telly to watch the ski-ing and speed skating, also the board riders who are very clever young things.  Go the Aussies is all I can say... well .... go the Canadians too I guess seeing I'm an honorary Canadian now.   lol

I've been making some new background papers for my Etsy Shoppe.    They come in 12 x 12 inch size and also A4 (8.5 x 11).  Lots of ways to use them.

Thank you Patricia for sending me this gorgeous photo of the three albino deer. I've never seen ones like this before. I have seen an albino moose but never deer.  How beautiful they are. I sure hope the hunters don't find them because what a tragedy it would be to have them killed.  Live long little ones.... I'll keep you in my prayers.

Cute video about how cats hold the power over the dogs...  so funny ....
Well I had a quiet birthday this past Sunday.  Not much to do up here in the woods especially when one doesn't feel well.  Another year older ... not particularly another year wiser I don't think though.  These years go by so quickly I just can't keep up.  Another birthday and I'll be getting an old age pension so I'm actually looking forward to that.  A cute little vintage girl for you with pink roses ....

I've been watching the Tennis (Australian Open) from Melbourne ... and they have had a horrible heat wave. Players have been having to deal with 109 degrees .. wow .. I know what that's like but I'm now enjoying the coolness of Canada.  Lots of ice though which I don't like.  My little pet squirrel is always busy waiting for me to arrive with his apple pieces and other fruits and veggies .. but today he slipped off the fence as he was carrying an apple core.  No big deal he must have thought because he was down onto the snow in a flash to retrieve his valuable cargo.  He's so cute....

a couple of images for you to snag if that's what you like to do when you come for a visit to my blog....

So annoying today. I lost $20 ....  I've never lost any money in my life but after going to the "hole in the wall" bank thingy where you put your card in and withdraw the money I withdrew $60.  I went to the supermarket to get milk and bread and handed the lady what I thought was a $20 note.  I am hating this Canadian money. New bills so slippery and shiny that nobody notices two stuck together.  I will have to start crunching them up when I get new ones .. to make them less slippery.  Obviously she didn't notice either that there were 2 instead of one $20 note.....  Oh dear...  !
