Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize... !!!!!!!
I'm sorry but I think this is wrong. The decision is premature for a leader less than a year into his first term and with no definitive progress in sight on a range of foreign policy fronts. He doesn't write his speeches .. and that seems to be all he does lately. Go overseas, stand in front of podiums with his teleprompters and move his head back and forth to read it ... as if he's watching a tennis match. I'm thinking after Al Gore's win last time that the Nobel Peace Prize is going along the same track as the useless United Nations. If he deserved it I'd say well done Mr. President... but what has he really done.............. you can talk as much as you want and that's about it ............... wins the Peace Prize in the morning and goes to a war discussion in the afternoon. He should have made up his mind about sending more troops long before it has escalated into a quagmire of death and defeat. Horrible situation, horrible war.... but the poor guys over there need more help ... give it to them now... ! You cannot leave it ..... or those thousands who have died and the terrible amount of thousands injured will have been for nothing.
London Times: Absurd Decision on Obama Makes a Mockery of the Nobel Peace Prize
Rarely has an award had such an obvious political and partisan intent. It was clearly seen by the Norwegian Nobel committee as a way of expressing European gratitude for an end to the Bush Administration, approval for the election of America's first black president and hope that Washington will honour its promise to re-engage with the world.
Instead, the prize risks looking preposterous in its claims, patronising in its intentions and demeaning in its attempt to build up a man who has barely begun his period in office, let alone achieved any tangible outcome for peace.
