Had fun today making some Christmas images for my Etsy Shoppe. There are some glorious old vintage santas to work with.   They sure are a nice way to decorate a gift rather than an ordinary modern tag or card.  Since I've lived in Canada in the snow for winter I always thought it was like being inside a christmas card.  Everything you see around you is picture perfect and so beautiful.  I love taking photographs in the winter but tomorrow I must take some of my flowers in my garden so I can add them to my digital designs.  The flowers don't last long and the season seems to be so short .... I guess we only have a few months before the cold and the snow begins to return. Good thing about that is ... my lovely deer will also return.

Still waiting for Summer to arrive... up here in the woods of British Columbia....  we have had lots of rain and I haven't even had a chance to sit on my deck swing and read my Kindle.  I'm beginning to wonder if we'll ever see nice days of sunshine.  My poor potted plants in their containers are getting water logged ... and the rain keeps coming.  We braved it yesterday and ventured out to a big yard sale.  I got myself some pretty pink ribbon, a big colourful platter, a white painted basket ... (gotta love baskets)....  some fabric to make myself a new tablecloth, and some pretty gingham hearts that someone had made obviously for coasters to put your drinks on.  I might think of a better way to use them... they are really nice.   We basically had the whole yard sale to ourselves.. hardly any people .........   now I guess with water in the field again this morning we might see our ducks back again.  I think they are confused too as to where summer is....

Two little girls with their dollies....  As I am searching around for vintage images to use in my Etsy Shoppe creations ....  and enjoying seeing all the young faces I came across the one at the top.   She's me....  :-)  I guess taken around 1953.    I remember my dolls name was Sally and I sure did love her.  Having no brothers or sisters it was the pets and the doll that kept me company.   At the time the photo was taken I was on a ferry ride from Hobart over to the eastern shore.  Tasmania.   I actually remember going on the ferry with mum and dad.  Don't know what happened to Sally.  She had a lovely little wooden framed bed which was painted blue .. I remember that as well.  I wonder where you are now dear Sally ... I'd like to think some little girl is taking care of you back home in Oz.

Imminent eye surgery ... not liking the thought of that at all.   But hopefully it will improve my vision and I can continue to design and create things for my blog, my website and my Etsy Shoppe.   Don't know what it would be like to not be able to see.  I think I would miss not seeing the deer or the animals the most.  Funny thing about my eye surgery I was thinking of the other day .... when I get good vision I'll probably look in the mirror and scream with fright at the wrinkles I've not been seeing.   Our voyage north to Alaska yesterday was a long one.  The town is below the southern part of Alaska and they have a Walmart there so that was a treat. I enjoyed looking at the crafts, the clothes, plants and shrubs, jewellery, and of course the make up section.  When you live in a small country town with hardly any shops at all... the Walmart definitely is wonderful.   And we have two more trips to make up there so I get to go shopping again.  Yeah!!!!

This is such a pretty image... I have just created it for my Etsy Shoppe... It's 300 dpi and
would look gorgeous printed out .. (it's full size A4 page when printed) .. or bigger if you would wish...
It comes without the black edge ... You can click on the image to see it larger ... the original is gorgeous. I'd love to see it in a gold antique frame or perhaps a shabby chic white one.... with pink ribbon as the hanger.

A summery, flowery desktop wallpaper for you.... Forgive me if I've already posted it ..
with three or four years worth of postings it's no wonder I forget.  Unless its a newly created one you may have seen it before.  Anyway click on the image to see the original size and save or install it to your computer from there.

Our little visitor yesterday to the bird feeder ... mother squirrel ... came so quickly to get the sunflowers ... she was so hungry.  I stood beside the feeder just about a foot away from her and watched as she clipped the end of each seed and gobbled it up as fast as she could. Little hands holding it ...  I guess its hard work looking after and feeding a bunch of babies.  And the pair of ducks are still about even though the water in the field is drying up quickly.  I hope they get their babies out safely.  I liked having our own small lake in the field .. it came right up to the fence line and it sure was a busy place with all the wildlife and birds etc.  Lots of the birds have moved on ... they came and they conquered .... our feeders were being emptied on a daily basis.  They moved on to wherever it is they go to build their nests and produce their babies.  I guess they'll return to us like they did last year on the homeward journey.   I read somewhere that our Canadian geese fly down to Florida.  Good heavens they are so clever...

A little angel today in remembrance of a beautiful little doggie who passed away yesterday.
Sandy was my neighbour.  She was as soft as a little kitten. She had a long and happy life with people who loved her very much.  I will miss seeing her. I'd like to think she is in heaven now with my beloved Wilbur ...
Rest in Peace sweetie.... no more pain ...
The angel image comes from one of my digital collage sheets from my Etsy Shoppe so if you want to save it its very large original size for printing out at around 2 inches by 4 ... it makes a pretty little card to add to flowers or whatever you wish.    Click on the image to see it full size.

Isn't this absolutely gorgeous... I love purple and I guess they are grape hyacinths .. taken in Holland I think. Beautiful, beautiful. Click to see the photo much larger.
I had a lady today ask about my Etsy Shoppe and if she purchased some of my things could she use them on her goodies she makes for cakes.  (on an edible printer of all things.)   I thought that was wonderful... and I could imagine someone nibbling on a cupcake that has the image of one of my little bears perhaps on top of it.  Edible ink on edible paper ... they put them on cakes....  Now that I think of it I have seen them in stores or made especially for maybe anniversaries etc where you see the photos of the happy couple... all sorts of ideas .... but that sure is one I hadn't thought of...  :-)

You can click on this pretty little lady and see her up closer and see what I'm talking about.  She has been coming to the feeder every single day but moreso lately. No wonder.  She is a new mum and you can clearly see the little nipples from feeding her young.  She is such a character and not scared of me at all .. especially when I am standing up so close to her I can just about touch her.   She loves the sunflower seeds and I took a video of her this morning as she diligently and very smartly .. picked up a sunflower seed, nipped the top off one end and had it undone like a banana in no more than 1 second.  It was gobbled up so fast.   I imagine when she's got the babies up and running she'll be bringing them to visit me too.   Can't wait.  I also had mother duck come for some food. I guess the old guy is sitting on the eggs whilst she takes a few moments breakfast break.

Gosh if you are a spammer please don't keep adding junk to my comments area.  I have seen so many lately.  Don't even bother because they are all moderated so all you are doing is wasting your time and mine.   Urgh!  I have better things to do than keep deleting propositions from asian or "beautiful" girls, or sales for viagra, just so much junk.

1st of June and I have a new addition to my collection of pretties...

a cute little white teapot with flowers on both sides... and its a square sort of shape. Not bad for $5 at the yard sale up the road.  The sale goes for 4 more days so I'll have to get back up there to see what tomorrow brings.

A new ergonomic chair too.... for $8.   Now I can swivel as I type ... gosh it makes me feel like I'm back at work ...

I love yard sales.. *s
